Life on the Hill - Greenhow Book


Greenhow - Its mining heritage, people and way of life This hardback book, Life on the Hill - Greenhow - Its mining heritage, people and way of life, has been produced by the Greenhow Local History Club and tells the story of Greenhow from the earliest times to the present day, including the extensive lead mining history of the area. The book was reprinted in 2010 and contains 144 pages with over 150 photographs and illustrations. The price is £15.00 with free postage to UK destinations. Volunteer work at the Beacon Museum The Branch evening meetings programme and the field trip programme for the forthcoming season.

Please contact the Field Trip Secretary, Ian Dossett to book your place on any field trip. Note that NWB field trips are limited to a maximum of 12 members and all quarry trips require you to follow the Society Safety Requirements and take proper precautions on all other field trips.

  • Friday 13 January 2012: Branch AGM meeting, followed by a talk on "What's New" by David Green, an update on mineral discoveries in the British Isles.

  • Friday 9 March 2012: "Summer Finds" - Members to bring a selection of what they collected last year.
