The Journal
of the Russell Society is published annually and
includes papers, topographical reports and brief notes
on all aspects of mineralogy, together with book
reviews and information relating to members of the
Society. The Journal publishes refereed articles by
both amateur and professional mineralogists dealing
with all aspects of mineralogy relating to the British
Isles. Contributions are welcome from both members and
non-members of the Russell Society. Notes for
contributors can be found in the 'JRS
Guidelines for Authors' document that has been
produced by the Journal Editor and Journal Manager.
The most recent JRS issue is Volume 14 with an excellent set of papers. The contents list for this is Vol.14, 2011, links to all Journals are given below. The Journal Manager compiles a complete contents list for all Journals, up to and including the latest, and this is available for download as a fully searchable PDF file here: Journal Contents. Now also available is a comprehensive list of all all authors of papers and articles published in the JRS and can be downloaded as a PDF file from this link: Author Index
Back issues of the Journal are now available for download. In the interests of freely disseminating the information contained within the Journal, the Society makes no charge for downloads, and hopes that this will increase the worldwide accessibility and usage of the papers published in the Journal. Each issue of the Journal is available as a fully searchable PDF file and contains all the text and illustrations of the original publication. To download an issue of the Journal, please click on the cover image in the contents list or use the link at end of each list. Once you have downloaded the appropriate issue of the Journal you can save, print and search within it for any word. The three most recent issues of the Journal are available for purchase as hard copies, and will be uploaded on a rolling basis as new issues appear in the future. The PDF files are hosted by Mindat and the link will take you to their page from where the file can be downloaded.
Published twice
a year (March and September) the RS Newsletter reports
the activities of the Society and includes articles on
minerals and mineralogical sites, membership
information and branch programme details. The
Newsletter is a very well produced communication link
for Members and the various Branches of the Society to
pass on information to other Members about their area,
events and activities. The Newsletter is printed on
high quality paper with colour photographs.
